I want to make a purse cake and I know there are the leather strap type of handles but I am wanting to make the Chanel type "chain" purse handle.
I can see doing a rope of fondant or gumpaste but then how do you think you would construct the chain? Just a thin peice of gumpaste hand wrapped around the whole thing and then painted? Is there any way to do this?

i don't know if this helps...when i made a purse cake i used two rolled strips of fondant and twisted them together.
