My name is Sabrina and I live in Ontario. I've been lurking on the boards for a few weeks now and I must say the cakes you ladies make are unbelievable.

I will be making my very first cake(cupcake cake) on Saturday for my daughter's 1st birthday and am looking for a non-dairy filling I could try. The idea of filling cupcakes sounds yummy and would surprise everyone that bites into them on Saturday. It needs to be non-dairy as there is a dairy allergy in the family.

TIA
Sabrina

Hi Sabrina, welcome to Cake Central! icon_biggrin.gif

How about using a fruit filling? Any kind of pie filling or even jam/jelly/preserves would make a nice filling and would be dairy-free. It's super easy to fill cupcakes, and you're right--it is a nice surprise, people don't expect cupcakes to have filling (unless they're the Hostess kind! icon_razz.gif ), so they get a double treat.

Hope that helps some. icon_smile.gif

There are tons of options out there. You can buy pre-made fillings in all sorts of flavors or if you prefer you can make your own. Here is a link to lots of filling recipes:

Where in Ontario do you live? I live in southern Ontario, right on Lake Erie. I use Rich's Freeze Flow, people love it and it's easy to work with. The supplier I used to use has closed shop, so I will have to go to Buffalo to get it from now on I think..unless I can find another supplier.
