Okay, so, I'm a slacker. I remember reading the CC directions regarding MMF several weeks ago now that I think about it, but tonight I didn't even remember there were any. So, I dove hands first into making my MMF using the recipe from another web site.

I get my bowls out. I am not sure if grease will affect my MMF so I decide to go without. I use half of the sugar like the recipe calls for and make my well. I feel the well is pretty small considering I am using a 16oz bag of marshmallows, but that is what the recipe calls for so I keep going. I get my marshmallows melted and pure them in. Of course my well overflows. At this point I am sure I am doing something wrong, but my directions are limited, so I grab a spoon and start to stir. Wow, this is nothing like rice krispies. Anyway, all of my pwd sugar is mixed in so I start to add a little more sugar and knead the mixture with my hands. Now I know I have messed up. First, I forgot to take of my wedding rings. Second, how in the world am I supposed to get the rest of the pwd sugar mixed in with my hands covered in melted marshmallows. Lucky me, my husband is home, so, I enlist his help. His job is to pour the sugar in a little at a time, only he doesn't understand "a little at a time". Powdered sugar is everywhere now, and he gets a little too close to the bowl I melted the marshmallows in. My husband thinks that melted marshmallows may be stronger than gorilla glue. He feels he has helped enough. I let him go without much fuss and finish kneading my fondant. I wash my hands and come look at the CC recipe thinking maybe there is more details about this process, and what do I find...not only instruction, but instructions with PICTURES. And they didn't even have to use their HANDS! AGGG!!!

I'm sorry to laugh, but your description is pretty funny! Sorry you had such a rough time. I've not tried the MMF yet, but would like to. Better luck next time!

Funny!
I actually prefer to mix it with my hands once I get it not so sticky. I rub crisco all over my hands....after I take my rings off of course!

It is a great workout! LOL!!! icon_wink.gif

I am glad I could make you laugh. icon_lol.gif

I am letting the MMF rest and plan on playing with it later today. I have felt the ball and it seems a little stiff, but I am guessing a few seconds in the microwave will make it all better.

I was tempted to make another batch using greased bowls and my KA mixer just to see if it was easier, but after I cleaned up my Powdered sugar coated kitchen, I decided to just save that for another day. icon_wink.gif

Oh, btw, I just did a search for marshmallow under recipes and then follow the link in the marshmallow fondont recipe. If you look under articles I am pretty sure the directions are in there too. I HIGHLY recommend reading them the same day you are planning on makeing the MMF. Don't wait until you forget about them like I did. icon_wink.gif
