Mine is my last name and we have 6 people in our family (my husband, me and 4 kids -- good thing I didn't include all of our animals - chickens, dog, cats, turtles, rabbits, fish!!).

My oldest daugther is Maddisen, my husband's nickname for her has always been maddog, so that's my screen name! i've often thought of changing it to something more "cakey", but I just can't!

I love the story behind Montibellesbakery. I think that is very appropriate. My name is part of what my business will be called. The full name is Havenleigh's Goodies, but I guess that was too long. I used just the first part. My other choice was my nickname, but I wasn't allowed to use that. My nickname is Nestle (like the chocolate).

I put the word "bean" on the end of my pets names when I call them. Eg "jacky-bean" or "nyah-bean" or "schnooky-bean" so now people call me Beany.

How cool everyone's stories are....Adven comes from my DH's business (Adventure Properties) and 68....well.....I can't get into that on such a respectable site....(It was not my idea)...

anyway....

The Painted Eye (I think I mentioned this recently)....comes from

1. I am a painter...
2. My name begins with an "I" and I had an uncle who always used to call me his "eye". He would say "Hi, Eye" everytime he saw me and it stuck....

I love doing birthday cakes, and i just thought Smashcakes would be a cute name. Since smashcake is typically a kid's first cake, and if something's a Smash, it means it was good. also, i think smashcakes would be a cute name for a bakery

"Tamanna" means wish/desire. It was the name i choose for my daughter, but in the end my son won the vote so she is Erika Esha ("Esha" also means desire). Now I always say "I wish I could make a cake for so and so", or "I wish I could make a cake like that". That's how it has always been, every cake i have made has been a wish/desire so i came up with Tamanna

My screenname is simple and boring. My first name is Renee and last name is Vallee. rvallee is my screename at work so I just used that for lack of anything better (I was too excited about being able to see the pictures of everyone's cakes and I couldn't think straight!). My avitar is a picture of my son Sebastien. It's over a year old, but I just love the smile on his face and how his blue eyes shine.

This has been quite interesting...love reading everyones stories. My mom use to call and she'd say What are you doing? and it was the same thing every time she called, I'd say, just cake'n, and so I just liked the sound of that and put the words together. Now when I call her and ask whats shes doing, She says, Just cak'n, (she bakes cakes too)

I just loved reading everyone's reason's for their name and I think it's a cool way to get to know each other.

Mine, well when I was about 12 years old my aunt had a daughter and she couldn't say Sylvie, most people called me "Syl" but my favorite little cousin couldn't so she called me "Vie" all the time. From there on all the little cousins and now aunts call me "Vie". But as I grew up I didn't hear it anymore and really missed it.

One of my husband's nicknames for me is Cookie since I like to cook and bake, so I tried to get that name first when I joined CC, but it was already taken. When I got really interested in cake decorating, he started calling me Cakey instead. I thought for sure that would be taken on this site, but I tried it anyway and couldn't believe it was available.

Hmm. I tried to come up with something with all my kids names.. Which are Jason, Brittany, Stephany and Brian.. I could not figure out anything... The older kids were like " Mom just any name".. So I thought and thought and this is what I came up with:
Brian's Baker came to me after having my 4th child. Brian Andrew. He is 4 yrs. old. He loves to help me in the kitchen. He has his own whisk and loves to mix the cake batter with mommy. Everytime I make a cake he tells me " mommy that is a pretty cake". He will try every recipe I make. New and old. He loves eating what I bake. And of course I always make his birthday cakes.
(VS the other kids are sick of cakes, they are like "now who's birthday is it" or " Another one?" Teenagers (rolling eyes))
So what better name to use than Brian's Baker.

What a fun thread!

My screen name comes from a nickname game a friend told me about during college. The rule is that your nick name consists of the first two letters of your full name. So my name was Danielle Rachel Napolio hence "darana", which I kind of like. Then I got married (Cox) so we changed my nickname to "daranaco."

Alot of people think my nickname is German (German heritage on my dad's side) but it doesn't mean anything. It's more like scat. My dad used to call me the Mighty Zamode when I was little.

Mine is freddyfl because my dad would call me freddy the freeloader when I was little, then it was shorted to fred when I was a teenager. You should have seen some of the looks we would get when he would say friend and I would answer (I am a girl, if you didn't notice by my siggie. LOL). He still calls me fred or freddy, so that is how I got that name.

Well- Euphoria Bakery is the name of my home based baking buisness. I actualy was a baker before a decorator. I sold cookies, cakes, cheescakes, candies, breads and muffins. Then I started learning decorating to add to my business and now I am addicted! I still sell mostly baked goods, but have actually sold a few custom cakes.

Euphoria came from my husband. We sat down to brainstorm a name for the buisness. Wanted something catchy and still buisness like. He says all my baked goods are euphoric, so there you go.

My avatar is the first cake I decorated after reading up on bunches of techniques.

SHenyd- I feel for you! I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old, they are 14 months apart! It gets easier. hang in there!

Well, my nickname is Kitti and I used to work in a private club in the kitchen. The waitstaff always refferred to it as Kitti's Kitchen, I always liked that. So now it's Kakes but with a K. I hope to have my own po' boy shop and will call it something to that effect. I just want people to go, "Hey, let's go to Kitti's for luch."
