Business is growing and I am in need of a professional kitchen to make my cakes. Everything in the area is WAY far away for me, (stay at home Mom with two kids). I am in Western Washington, and would like to sub lease or something to get my foot in the door till I can build something or afford a building on my own.

I know I need to call the department of health, to get ideas on what I will need for my professional kitchen, but where should I look for a sub lease type of thing? I have googled and can't come up with anything.

Thanks!

Dana

WHAT ABOUT A BAKERY OR SMALL CAFE? I SAW SOMETHING ON 'RECIPE FOR SUCCESS' WHERE A BAKER USED A CO-OP TO DO HER BAKING WHEN SHE STARTED OUT....

..noticed that this is your first post.....WELCOME to Cakecentral!

How about contacting a local church and see if you could work out something with them, since their kitchens aren't used all the time?

I'm going through this right now in Houston! I found a church to give free kitchen space for the first kitchen of my business (after hundreds of phone calls I got VERY lucky!). But I can't work on weekends or at night and I need more room for wedding cakes, so I'm looking into renting space from an established kitchen. The going rate is $1000-$2000 per month plus equipment costs! Please let me know if anyone knows of someone who can rent me space. Thanks!
