Hello!
Is anyone familiar with Maid of Scandinavia now know as Sweet Celebrations? I'm looking into buying a box of them. Is it worth it for me to do this? I have never seen an issue but wondered if any of you had and found then useful?
I am sorry I am a bit lost here.. What are you looking to buy from them ?? I have bought some cake suppiles from them and they are ok..
I have some old ones that I was about to get rid of, they were also called Mailbox News I believe, they are helpful. also give other recipes.
Ladycakes, I believe they are newsletters. To be honest, i haven't a clue myself!
Cakes-r-us, sounds like you are familiar with them however if you are going to be getting rid of them then perhaps I should save my $$$ for something else....
They are not news letters, its a cooking magazine with pictures of cakes, recipes, etc. I'm getting rid of them because I have so many not because they were not worth the money. They are full of knowledge, just got new issue friday. I can send you some if you like for you to sample. Email me at [email protected] with your address if you like. And if you want to reimburse postage, i'll leave that up to you.
I have almost 10 years of "Maid" that belonged to my Mother. If you are still interested please write me.
That brings up a good question. I have years and years of ********** and Cake Decorating Magazines from the UK that I'm now selling on eBay. But my question is, I also have a lot of ICES issues and wonder if it's worth selling as well. Has anyone done this with success?
I had probably 50 issues from the 1960's and gave them all away years ago. But this brings up a question. Maid Of Scandinavia sold Christmas cookie cutters all those years ago that included a recipe for sugar cookies called "Merry Christmas Cookie Dough" would any of you happen to have that recipe? My cutters and recipe are long gone, I just remember them as being so tasty. If any of you happen to have that recipe could you please post it or message me?
I am just delighted that I was contacted by a Cake Central member named Sky who messaged me the original recipe for the Merry Christmas Cookie dough I have searched for over the years. As soon as I saw the recipe and she mentioned the cutters were from an Aunt Chick I went to eBAY and found those very same Christmas cutters I had all those years ago. They were only $10.00 for the set of four and I ordered them on the "Buy It Now" feature. Very excited and a big thank you to Sky!
love this post
first one i read today great way to start the day one of the sweetest ever
thank you sky and shirley -
merry christmas happy holidays
hope y'all and all y'all have the best wednesday, weekend and new year
SKY,
My cutters and the recipe arrived yesterday and I just wanted to thank you once again. Looking at those cutters brought back memories of 50 years ago making Christmas cookies with my four children. Three of them gone now but my remaining daughter will remember them too when she sees them. I had forgotten how cute the face was on Santa.
