I need the amounts for shortening and chocolate to make chocolate covered strawberries.

If you have used candy melts, doe you need to add anything to the melted chocolate?

TIA

With a bag of chocolate chips you can add 1 T. of shortening to like a cup of chips. With candy melts you don't add anything.
I love chocolate covered strawberries, can't wait till next spring to get some good ones!

You can also use what is called Chocolate Bark (comes in Milk and White). You'll find this at most grocery stores (Wal-Mart, Kroger). It comes in a package of 8 blocks of chocolate. You don't need to add anything to it either.

I just made these for my daughters Baptism party and I used one bag chocolate candy melts and about 2 tbls (didn't measure) of shortenting. Once covered completelyI drizzled them with white candy melts and they were a HUGE success. I had to pass them out and tell my guest sorry its only one per person I think I kept them wating more, I had no idea tehy were going to come out so good or I would have made more. I had some people request these for their christmas gifts.
