I thought maybe it was the petal pan, but I've seen several of the competition shows and now they are all jumbled in my brain!

After looking at the cake it reall looks like you could do it two way. You could use round pans and carve it or for the bottom three layers it looks like you could also use the petal pan but just cutt off some of the rounded edges so that it does not look so much like a flower. Eeither would work. With most of her cakes, there is carving that is involved and they dont necessarily come from a pan shaped as her cake. HTH

You really should buy her latest book "cakes to dream on" in it she has several illustrations about how she uses different cakes and stacks them up against each other for various shapes.

I don't think this particular cake was made by using a shaped pan, I think it was several cakes added against the main cake.... just my opinion though because I don't think it's in that book although there are other similar cakes.

I have those, and I have the cake I made in them posted! I absolutely love the style!

You have to line the pans with parchment paper or greased brown paper bags to use our thinner american batters in those pans.

they are expensive but worth it!

Enjoy!

icon_biggrin.gif I am definitely getting them.. I already called them and asked if this was the same pan Colette used in her Royal Wedding, and they said yes !! I love those pans..I'm sure it's worth the money.
Thank you again Elena for leading me to this website.
