Ideas, Please. How Do I Make Horns For A Viking Helmet?

I am going to make the helmet part with the wondermold pan, covered in fondant with gold luster dust. But the horns are stumping me. I am possibly ice cream cones...how would I attach the horns? Help.
I would suggest using rice krispy treats formed onto skewers and then painted over with royal icing - good luck!
The ice cream cones would work, but they will be straight horns. If you want curved horns, you could shape them out of rice crispy treats, then ice smooth or cover in fondant. Just attach them to the cake with skewers or dowels.
I just saw something interesting in a cake book....it's by Kerry Vincent. On top of a cake she had what appeared to be a piece of driftwood. Anyway, to make it she took a hanger and bent it in the shape she wanted and then squeezed foil all around it, then covered that with icing. Sounds like it would work for the "horns" on your cake. Just a thought for you!
Carol made a viking cake that's in the gallery. She carved the horns from styrofoam and then covered them in royal. I think the foil idea would work just as well though.

I don't have any suggestions, I just popped in to say, "Go Vikings!"
I know, I know, they're not doing very well this year, but when you're a fan, you're a fan!
