For Valentine's Day I have several people that LOVE my cookies, so I ended up making nearly 100 dozen!! I posted a picture of the naked cookies in the gallery...There are a dozen in each stack. Now I have to decorate all of them in the next 24 hours. Hope there is something good on TV so I can watch and take my mind off how bad my wrist is hurting!!
That is a LOT of cookies!!! Your wrist will certainly be hurting after icing all of those!
Tell me, how did you make so many in so short of a time? I need you to enlighten me! lol
Now that's alot of cookies. I wanted to make some for valentines day but just looking at your pic makes me tired.
What kind of icing do you use? Can a person use just regular BC icing for cookies? I have always used the powdered sugar and crisco frosting but would like to try some new things.
Happy decorating
Toni
DANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is a whole bunch of cookies! they look good too! all pretty
And I thought the 61 dozen I have to do was a lot, will be thinking of you tomorrow while I'm frosting away too.................
Hi,
I made 1500 (125 dozen) cookies last year for the company I work for......it was tough going but with good planning it was possible. Each cookie had to be individually wrapped as well.
Good luck.....let us know how it turned out.
wow girls, cookies, cookies, cookies!!!!! I myself am getting ready to make 60 dozen for a wedding and already feel time consumed on another note, does anybody have a great easy to roll or best store bought sugar dough advise/recipe?
I was asking because I have a big covention on March 30 that I promised to do the logo cookie for and I was looking for an efficient method...yours seems the best! that many in 2 days..I'm ubber impressed!
RisqueBusiness....not sure if this will help you.
I made the NFSC one batch at a time and immediately rolled out and cut the hearts out and placed them on a cookie sheet and open froze them for about a half hour. While they we frezzing I made the next batch of cookie dough. When the frozen ones came out I placed them in a air tight container with plastic wrap between the cookie layers and back into the freezer.
Then, I spent the next day only baking (straight out the freezer) and making the icing. I used to bake two lots of cookies at a time because I have a thermofan oven...not sure if you can do this without a thermofan.
As soon as the ccokies were cool I iced and the next day I packaged.
HTH
Thermofan? is that like a convection oven? I have one in the shop that has 6 racks...wow..Maybe I can do this after all..
it's the rolling out part that takes so long!
since I'm just going to be using an edible image that part will be a piece of cake..ahhaha I said cake!
Thanks for the instructions!!
Sorry I didn't get back to you with the answers to your questions...I was a little busy!!
I can bake 10 dozen cookies in an hour. I just have a regular oven, people ask me how many ovens I have...just one!! I have the cookie sheets that are 12x18 and I can get 15 heart shaped cookies on each pan. I put two sheets in the oven at one time and while they are baking, I mix up another batch, get them on the cookies sheets and by the time I have them ready, the ones in the oven are done, and I start the process over again and again and again...
I have never wrapped them individually...that makes me tired thinking about that!!
I just use this recipe and don't ever chill the dough...no time for that!!
2 sticks margarine
2 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2.5 cups flour
Bake at 375 for 8 minutes.
I frost them all with buttercream. Same stuff I do on my cakes. They are GOOD!!
I think I will go take a little nap so I can finish them tomorrow. I posted a picture of about 70 dozen already decorated. I decorate them real simple, since I have to do 1,200 cookies, don't want to make it too hard on myself, if you catch my drift!!
And in the middle of all that my husband thinks he needs to EAT!!! And the dogs need out, the laundry needs done, the phone rings off the wall...CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!! Good thing I don't have kids at home!!
I feel your pain, I finished my 61 dozen about 1am this morning. I as you do over half of mine with the buttercream because people rave over that as opposed to the RI for some reason. I will join in the calgon take me away....................
I'M DONE WITH ALL OF THEM!!! I posted a picture of the last of them spread out all over my kitchen. And in the middle of all that I had to make a birthday cake!!
You are very impressive getting that many cookies done and them all looking equally nice! I do about 100 at a time during holidays and just thought I was doing something big! ha! NOT!
Dumas is such a small town.............do you own a bakery there or work out of your home? We most usually go through Dumas on our way up to Colorado.

Cookie Queen ,
How do you keep them from getting smudged when you package them? I was using Alice's Cookie Icing ( posted on Wilton's forum) and it smudged after drying for 12 hours, but it's reeeeeally yummy!!
yes cookie queen, do your cookies dry hard enough to stack them in the white boxes. great job!!
I just do this out of my home.
My frosting crusts up pretty quick so I don't have a problem with stacking them in the boxes. I use the buttercream frosting recipe in the Wilton Decorating Books. That is what I use on my cakes and cookies. I haven't ever tried any other frosting, everyone seems to LOVE this one!!
Holy Cookies Batman! all those AND a b-day cake, you rock! I wish I had only an ounce of your energy. I'm only 34 but get worn out during a project because of the distractions - kids, carpool, dinner, phone calls, laundry, dishes etc.
Oh my goodness! Your picture looks like my kitchen when I was making 23 loopy bows!
Debbie
Maybe the Kooky Cookie Queen! That is just incredible. I bet bakeries with a staff don't do that much in your time span! You are amazing.
That is just AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just think, if you sold them $2 a piece so thats $24 a dozen and did 99 dozen once a month....that is like $2500. Thats some nice job security! Now if you could only find that many people to order each month!
