I don't know what solid vegetable oil is, but shortening is a solid hydrogenated fat...That is what you want to use for your buttercream...Do you have Crisco or Richtex brands there?

to make american buttercream you use solid white vegetable shortening.

Our brand is called CRISCO.

I hope this helps!

Solid vegetable shortening ingredients:
(Ingredients from Crisco Brand):
PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN AND COTTONSEED OILS, MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES

"Solid vegetable oil" is vegetable oil that has been hydrogenated, thus making it 'solid', which is the same thing as "solid vegetable shortening".

I do not know what copha is.

RE: Copha

I just read that Copha is made from coconut oil, so, that would be the difference between it and vegetable oils (vegetable vs. coconut)
