Ok, yes it is dora but isn't the with between eyes too wide? something just doesn't seem right. and i cann't figure it out.
Maybe the head should be different shape? it is killing me. something doesn't fit.
What would you change to make her look more dora?
Thanks Fran, i have a book at home too. just couldn't get it right, making a new one now... i post later, wish me luck.
Thanks again!
Oh, you don't need any luck, you model like a champion! You'll have it perfect, I think this one is already, but if you're not happy then you should do what makes you feel better
I can't wait to see the next one!
I think it's fabulous except I think Dora is a little darker skinned. She's adorable!
Don't change a thing !! She is beautiful, as is all your work..... Girl, you are AMAZING !!
Oh, and I forgot to add, her nose is tiny in all the pictures I've ever seen, maybe you should try making it just a tiny little ball.
you can also just do a "SHEET" for the hair, not individual strands, they look like she has curly hair..and the nose, you can just poke two small holes in her face to make it a smaller nose..and make her darker.
but...the one you made does give the "impression" that it's Dora without "BEING" Dora..which you may not want to change because of the infringement on copy write laws..? Just a thought
Shes Dora allright and if you really think you need to change something, I would also think about changing the shape of her mouth and if you use sheet for hair you can always mark the sheet to look like hair, instead of individual strands.
She is adorable. I'm not sure I'd say "Dora" if I saw her out of context, though. To me, Dora's head and hair come across as a single shape - a LIP shape! I know that's weird, but when I look at her, I see a big lip - pointy on the sides. I don't see single strands of hair - just little indents where her bangs are. Having said that, I have no idea how I would approach modeling her.
Liis,
I have my 9 year old daughter sitting next to me, she's just got out of bed, still half asleep. I asked her who your final figure was and her response was "It's Dora the Explorer, Fairy Princess" Ya can't ask for better than that!
The first model I thought looked a little like lilo from lilo and snitch but I could definitly see dora after others pointed it out I think the 3rd ones looks great and you have the stamp of approval from my 3 year old who is in love with dora and haveing a dora party tommrow so dont change a thing.
I just asked my 5 year old Dora crazed girl - she said all three look like Dora but especially the 2nd and 3rd! There's an expert opinion!!!
Good luck!
I just brought the expert, my 2 year old daughter, in and asked her who all of the pictures were. The first one got Dora in Fairy tale land and the others got some sort of Party Dora. I thought it looked like Dora also.
Those characters look so easy... but I had to make a Diego a few months ago (out of clay), and I wanted to scream. The life-like little girl I made was easier than a silly cartoon boy.
I think the third version of Dora is by far the best - great job!!!
The third one is definitely the winner!! I couldn't decide on the first one. It was between Dora and Lilo.
Thanks, i am happy i finished it. my 3 y old also accepted the third Dora finally. He is a Dora lover big time.
Now i will just make her little gadgets and things.
She wants the cake really girly ( and colors lilac, white and pink)
i most probably make tiny pink roses and combine something. i wish i could design a cake first and then follow the design, but i cann't i just have to make it as i go along.
Any suggestions?
My 9 year old says #3 is a FABULOUS Dora! (yes, she thinks she's something with her "big" words).
She said - gold crowns, lavender stars and pink roses would be wonderful - and those lavender "dip things" which, by her description, I think she means ribbon swags
Nice job!
