Since Thanksgiving is approaching I have been ask to do the cake for our Thanskgiving dinner at work, soooo I thought about doing the turkey cake, the one that actually looks like a turkey right out of the oven. I have the instructions for this but was hoping for those decorators that have done one like this would you have any tips to share. Thanks so much

I am thinking of doing the same thing.
These are some websites I found:
http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/special/cake/cake_turkey/
Also go to:
www.bronwenscakes.com
Click on sculpted cakes and she has an awesome turkey cake with tips.
HTH.
Thanks so much for the info, I found the one in familyfun, but can't get the other website to come up right now, so I will try again later. Again thanks

I just posted on the end of the instruction sheet! Guess I'd better post here instead! I looked at Bronwen's turkey, but couldn't read the information (the pictures were all way over on the right side of my screen and I couldn't move them). It says she used four 8" pans of some kind, but couldn't tell what kind. Was someone else able to read that?
MsMissey, thanks for your instructions. I went to look at the photo, but there was spaghetti, guess the photos are mixed up! Thanks again. Janice
veejaytx,I got the same thing when I went to Bronwen's website, just couldn't make it out
Hi guys,
Sorry the site didn't work for you. I am working from a Mac and I don't have that problem.
This is the text with the cake:
"Turkey!! When I first made a cake like this, I was in a Kosher bakery, one customer complained that I had meat in the bakery! Ooops. I sculpt them from four 8 by 12 cakes stacked on top of each other. He is fondant covered and airbrushed. The veggies are fondant as well. I cheated, or rather ran out of time, so his leg thingies are made of paper. This one was made for the Texas show in 2002. He won me first place in novelty cakes. He was pictured in American Cake Decorating Magazine."
I did a smaller one a couple of years ago. I used the ovals that came in the Wilton Course 2 Kit and a 6in heart. I did some step by step pictures when I did it. You can find them here: http://www.tracescreations.com/stepbystep/sbsturkey.htm
