Does anybody know how I can get a "santa claus" red with Wilton paste colors? I can't seem to get the really deep red!

I always start with a pink, then add the red... there is also a difference between regular red and christmas red, and no taste red... I have also used strawberry flavored frosting and went from there, but if you dont want the taste of strawberry start with red then once you get red add a really small small amount of black to set in the deepness.

I have always had luck using a mixture of "red-red" and "christmas red."

If you can find someplace that sells americolors their red gets the icing red fast and without as much as wiltons and there's no tin taste

Also, it helps to let the BC sit overnight or for atleast a few hours. It will deepen as it sit's.

Also figure out how much you really need that way you are not over mixing. Ameri Color is the best and worth any driving you have to do to get it.
