I just started making a cake, durable recipe, and realized that I didn't have enough oil and that I'm supposed to be meeting my mother in about 15 minutes, I will be gone for a couple hours, so far all I have in it is the cake mix, pudding, water and sour cream, will it be ok if I wrap it up and put it in the fridge or should I just start all over when I get back?
TIA

you can leave it..just hurry back..lol

We make our cake batter at school all the time, and as long as we are not adding any meringues to lighten our batter..we walk away from our sponge batters all the time...

I've let mine sit in the fridge for an hour and then baked (box cake). Wasn't sure if it would be okay, and it was just some left over batter. Figured I would try it out and use it for cake balls or something if it worked.

I thought it came out just fine.
