I am having a fall theme birthday party for my 7 year old daughter. We are making carmael apples, bobbing for apples, jumping in leave piles, so it is really just a fall theme. I am trying to think of a fall cake design that is somewhat girly. I am doing an 8" round, and can maybe stack a smaller cake, for a tiered effect. I was thinking of having MMF leaves to place on the cake, but want to do something that pulls a young girly fall theme together. Any ideas, I am stumped.

Hi Jenn-oh...wanted to welcome you to Cakecental. You're gonna love it here!

I think the idea you came up with sounds like a great "Fall Theme" cake..you could add some little fondant/gumpaste pumpkins and apples...how about making a little girl out of fondant and putting her in your pile of leaves? Just some thoughts!

Hi,

I like your leaves idea. There are some beautiful fall-themed cakes on this website.

I thought about maybe making a "girl" scarecrow out of fondant or even drawing her on the cake. Here is a picture of one to give you an idea.

Also how about putting a fondant bow in a nice copperish-burnt orange color? Hope these ideas help! icon_smile.gif

What about doing a fall gift cake??? You could do a 2 tier square cake and do some fall colors...a pretty bow...and then add your leaves. Just another ideas for you to think about. icon_smile.gif

If you do rounds, i always think a basket weave on the side gives a "girlie" feel, you could do it in ivory, or a nice golden fall yellow instead of brown. there should still be candy corn around and there's those little candy pumpkings, you could use those as something cute

Love the fall leaves idea, how about putting a puppy or kitten on it playing in the leaves. Little girls love puppies and kittens.

You could make a mini doll cake to put on it with instead of a skirt, that part could be the pile of leaves, add a leaf in her hair and maybe one on her hand. You could make a wheelbarrel with graham crackers icing and leaves to put on it with a little girl or pet sitting in it.

Around here the squirrels come out foraging in the leaves for food in the fall so one of them may be cute in it.

Love the fall, great theme !!!
