Hi. I just spent the better part of the morning making pearls. They are now on a plate surface drying. Can anyone tell me how much pearl dust to use to cover them with? And do I add the dust to the container and then the pearls before I shake them up? I made approx. 500-600 pearls using Wilton tip #8. Boy, it took alot out of me. Not to mention my blistered thumb and index finger-comes with the 1st time, I guess. Thanks for any help you guys!!!

I won´t do all at one time. Just a little bit of dust in the container and than, as you said, the pearls. Maybe 20 -30 per shake up. I think this methode is much more dust saving than to brush the pearls.
Hope your fingers will be better soon and good luck for your cake. Will it be a wedding cake, with all the pearls on?

Thanks for the info, Tuggy. I don't have a cake yet. I am making the pearls ahead of time for whatever reason I may need them. I figure if I do some once or twice a week(some pearl and some gold), then I will be a ble to have some on hand for when I do need them. Silly, huh? But I was bored today and figured there was no time like the present to get started. Thanks again!!!

Oohh, I love them!!!! I just dusted the first batch and they look fantastic!!!! I can't wait to see them on a cake. I am going to have to find a reason to do a cake sometime soon. I am so excited. I just used the super pearl dust on this batch. I can't wait to try thr nusilver and gold highlighter dusts!!!! Sorry if I sound crazy, I am just so impressed with these things!!

..isn't this just too much fun!!

If you try the nusilver...let me know that you think of that color. I used it on a bow and it turned out kinda of black/silver. Not sure if that is the color it is supposed to be or not! Thanks
