Too cool! Colette gave a quick demo on how to do her cupcake cake. icon_smile.gif I was over thinking the concept and it was really super easy. Been wanting to do one for ages.

I liked this show better (naturally, since it was about cakes, right?) but I think our dear host still needs a little warming up. He just doesn't seem to have a whole lot of personality.

It was good to learn that Collette rolls her fondant out to about 1/4" but boy am I disappointed that I'm going to have to load on the fondant to get a really smooth result. That's my biggest problem with fondant. I'm rolling it too thin, I think mostly because I'm starting with a lump that's too small. I get it on the cake OK but it shows all the little bumps and bulges.

It was also interesting to watch how she put it on the cake, with 2 people lifting it up and a third to slide the cake under. No wonder so many of us on here have problems putting fondant on a 14" cake!!!

I may have to try out the giant cupcake too, bikegal!

The crepe cake looked sooooo good. I would love to have their custard recipe.

what did you gals think of the "sassy cake" and are any of you going to try it?

The sassy cake seems like an odd mix of ingredients although it might be good. I still can't get over the fact that his bakery is known for using "real" ingredients--butter, cream, etc. If that's the case, we should all be famous and able to charge big bucks for our cakes! icon_smile.gif

The big cupcake cake was cute--I thought Browen's cupcakes were good too -- that's just a lot of time to put into something so small!!

Wish they would do more shows like this one.

I haven't seen it yet but it's being recorded, I can't wait!!!

I haven't been rolling my fondant out that thick, I guess that's the trick to really smooth fondant, I will have to try that.

I am so disappointed. With daylights saving time, the show has now went from 9:30 to 10:30. Way past my bed time. icon_cry.gif

First I have to thank Cady. I had just logged on to this site and I saw your post. I would have missed it. Thank you.

I love this show.

The crepe cake looks good. I would love to have a few slices.

The sassy cake sounds weird, but I just printed out the recipe if I have time maybe i will try it this weekend.

I missed the beginning so I will have to catch it this weekend.

I would also love to have their custard recipe. YUMMMMM
