Wilton Pan Instructions
There is now an area at CakeCentral.com dedicated to Wilton's character pan instructions. Whether you bought the pan at a garage sale or just lost the instructions for your pan...... You can now find it here!

You can search our database of existing instructions, and if we don't have it, post your request here, and we will notify you as soon as we get it!

Also, if you have older, discontinued pan instructions sitting around on your computer,

Please send them in!

Coming Soon!... Online Pricing Matrix
You can discuss this feature here.
I am currently working on an online totally customizable pricing matrix.
What will it do ?
It will help you decide your service fees based on mathmatical algorithms.
It will act as a sort of survery, first you will tell it where you live, howmany years of experience you have, average price of some basic ingredients inyour area, and some other defining factors.
It will be a massive database with tons of info that can be suited to your specific area, to help you decide how much to charge for your cake decorating services. or at least how much it will cost you to make a specific cake.
For now I have made the MS Excel Spreadsheet static version available here.

Are the instructions available so far just the same ones already available on the Wilton site? Wouldn't it make more sense just to direct folks to that site, which has so far about 100 pans covered?

Do you plan to add instructions that are not in format Wilton's downloadable instructions are in?

We currently have about 164 pans I have added quite a few that have are discontinued and not available on the Wilton website.

As for redirecting to the Wilton.com site, I do not know what plans Wilton has for keeping a large archival database of all of thier instructions, as it seems there are only a few very recently discontinued pan instructions in there. Most of the instructions they list are for very recent pans.

I hope to keep a very large archive, so if someone picks up a 1984 pan at a garage sale, they will have a central resource to find it.

I have considered this, however the PDF format seems to be the most univeral and compact. I considered also offering it in JPEG format, however I have not requested permission from Wilton yet to do that. Also, in JPEG format it makes it more difficult because many instructions are multiple pages, which means downloading multiple very large files. This doesn't seem very logical to me.

Another thing I wanted to mention, Anyone can submit thier scanned in Wilton instructions, No matter what format you have saved it in,
Once it is submitted I will do all of the formatting into PDF.

Please let me know if you have any other questions icon_smile.gif

That is some undertaking! I wish you well, and think the complete inventory will be an awesome resource.

Could you give me a couple of examples of directions you have that aren't on the Wilton site, so I can see what yours look like?

Thanks,
Jeanne

Thanks Jeanne,

Oops! I thought I had added some addtional pans that were not from the Wilton, site but I was wrong! icon_redface.gif I had accidentally doubled up some of the same instructions. So right now you will be able to find the same instructions on the Wilton.com website. But not for long! I hope to gather up instructions from everyone I can! icon_biggrin.gif

All instructions will be the official Wilton instructions supplied with the pan. So they will look very similar to the ones that are available now.

Jackie, I have quite a few Wilton pan instructions scanned. Some are from the inserts, and many are from the huge page that is folded into a booklet and provided with some pans. None of them looks remotely like the format Wilton uses for their online version of the instructions. Wilton has really done a redesign specifically for downloadable pages. That is why I'm wondering what your version will look like, and what steps you'd have to take to get them into a good downloadable format. I'll be watching for when you post some that are from inserts or booklets, rather than what is already on Wilton's site. Jeanne

Yes, that will take quite a bit of extra work on my part, in PhotoShop, MS Word and Acrobat. But I feel like I am up to the challenge icon_biggrin.gif
