I am reading a lot of discussions here on Cake Central about Black Fondant and how hard it is to color.

I just want to mention that you can buy black fondant from this online store I use a lot

www.cakedeco.com

The fondant is from Satin Ice - very good fondant (tastes very good - comparitively speaking). You can buy small 5lb tubs of it.

Just thought I'd let y'all in on it.

Can you tell me what the ingredients are? I've heard things about Satin Ice but what makes it different? what "tastes" better about it? I thought the fondant ingredients were about all the same?

And I heard that black fondant should have chocolate in it... is it chocolatey?

Thanks!

Satin Ice has a nice flavor. The Wilton fondant is horrid...Satin Ice also has a nice consistency, is easy to work with.

They make an array of colors..black included and it is a "true" black. They also make a chocolate fondant. The black tastes just like the white does....they also have ivory.

I saw Satin Ice at a store I went into recently .. however, the price of it made me turn the other way .. $28.99 for 5 pounds!!
