.....who didn't make anything for Halloween? I didn't even make cookies! The ones I made last year were for my DH's work and that was just because I wanted to do them.

NO ONE in my family is a cake eater so this is the time of year I really have a lull! I'm pretty sad about that too because I love the holidays and would love to do a holiday cake, especially Christmas! I'm so bummed!

Don't worry, cakemommy.

You can make a nice little cake just for you on Christmas.
Or call your friends and enjoy your small cake party.
I did my Ladies cake party last month and I had a great time.
Dont be sad.

Good Luck

I didn't make anything either. Well I take that back. I had to decorate a cake for a girls birthday at work. (pink and green colors)I didn't want to decorate it in a Halloween theme. So last night I had to bake 2 square cakes, and a batch of brownies. Tonight I have to decorate the 2 cakes, make approx. 2-3 dz cookies, start on a homecoming garter for my daughters boyfriend. Wednesday decorate the cookies, and bake 60 cupcakes, and finish the homecoming garter. Thurday I have to decorate the cupcakes and package the cookies. The only thing my kids will eat from all this is the 1/2 pan of brownies. All the other items will be donated to my daughters school.
Next week only one cake...my daughters birthday cake, an easy earthquake cake. Yeah no decorating just bake and eat!

All this after I get home from work and 6pm.

Nope - me neither! I was a real Scrooge this year - for the first time ever I turned out the lights. Maybe because I overdid lunch. We had a huge potluck at work, and I was zonked!

I did get a dishwasher installed!!!! YES, my first one!!!! But during this time no cakes, boo hoo. But to answer you cakemommy, nope you're not alone!

Ha,ha,ha...my sister called me a scrooge lastnight because I didn't turn my porch light on. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

I did have candy, but it was for me! My family jokes on me all the time for either being late or cheap!

I went to my first halloween costume party this past Friday night. I had a blast. Although, I found the pool table and hung out there all night fighting to keep my table!!

I did not do any halloween cakes or cookies - I was busy making my costume. I already have four cakes due for the same day in December. Three of those are freebies for events I'm going to. Advertising I tell ya! Three are red velvet and one will be some type of chocolate fudge.

Nope, not for my house, but had to do a Halloween sheet cake for a customer.

KayDay, I can feel your pain...had my house remodeled five years ago and had to move everything into storage and stayed with my sister and her family for four months. icon_cry.gif

I baked a cake to send in to work with my DH. I felt like experimenting so I made the Giant Ding Dong Cake.......my way of relating it to Halloween was the the kids ring your doorbell....Ding Dong..it's a stretch, I know!! LOL!!

Anyway...just to let you know it was a HUGE hit! Beware though...the creme filling calls for white sugar...don't try using regular sugar..very grainy, use powdered sugar!!

I got to make my first 2 "big" cakes and 2 doz cupcakes for my daughter's class! I had so much fun! If you're have "cake baking DT's", make a cake for the local fire dept or police dept. I live in a small town and they are SO appreciative of everything...plus I get the free advertising icon_wink.gif ! I try to get something by to them a few times a year, but especially during the holidays. I like the idea of the homeless shelter too.

I didn't make anything this weekend either. We had fun taking our daughter around, but we did leave a bowl full of kit kats on our porch with the light on for kids to help themselves. Two weeks ago, my niece and nephew were over, and we made Halloween cookies by trying the no fail sugar cookies recipe with Toba Garrett's Glace Icing. We made them thick and chewey and they were a hit. I think I'll stick to this recipe form now on, and I'm also planning to use it for the upcoming holidays.

It's either feast or famine with me ... either I have way too many cakes to do or I have none.. I'm at the "none" stage right now lol .. I want to make a cake with fall leaves on it ... I think those are just beautiful!! I did make some petit fours this weekend.. some chocolate ganache and some white poured fondant ones.. they turned out well.. I'm taking them to work with me tomorrow to give them out in the building I work in .. I hope to get some orders for some icon_smile.gif I had fun making them icon_smile.gif

WOW!

I didn't make anything! Nothing, nada! I just wanted to know if I was alone and I wasn't. Sounds like a lot of home makeovers going on and taking care of family.

I don't have school age children so I'm a SAHM! I just didn't have anyone place any orders. Sometimes I think people forget what I like to do. I do this as a hobby, an expensive one but a fun one. I do have three cakes for the middle of December! I have a Winter Navy Ball cake and a retirement cake. These are going to be huge cakes so I guess I need the rest now!!!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

I didn't do anything for Halloween either. I had minor surgery last week and just wasn't up to it. It's hard to get in the mood when there's not little ones around the house anyway.
