I just recieved an order for a wedding cake to feed 60 guest. The bride wants the fountain and staircases on each side. My questions is how big of cakes do I need to make. I checked on servings at wilton, but they are cut really small I want to make sure she has enough cake. Here is what I was thinking:

the side cakes 12" on bottom and 8" on top for both the main cake a 10" with a 6" on top for the keeper.

Does this sound right or should it be different. Please any advise is a blessing, this will be my first wedding cake. and she is paying very well for it. I want it to be perfect.

I think all of that is PLENTY of cake. I just did a birthday cake for a little girl to feed 60-70 and I did a 14" and 8" and some cupcakes and they said they had a lot of leftovers.
Serving charts are so screwy sometimes!
