IMHO (which isn't worth much these days!) I think you did a great job on the cat! My main thought was that he didn't really look "Purple" (more like pink and gray in the photo.) The pictures are not close enough to be able to see much detail. Janice
..that's really cute. If it were me..the only thing I would have done differently for a contest would have been to place the cake on something decorative instead of the plain white cake board. The cake itself is terrific!
The cake is fantastic!! Sometimes it's the type/brand of film that doesn't do justice to the true colors .. purple/blues are so hard to get in photos ... you did a wonderful job on the cake!!
the cake is just so cute....I love the Cheshire cat! I remember seeing this cake and really admiring it.
looks good to me the only thing if I remember correctly was that the chesire cat also had a very long tail.
I love it! You did a great job. What a cute cake! : )
My only suggestion is it needs a better photo.
Take the photo outdoors, get closer, and make sure it's in focus. A good photo is really important. If you have to take it indoors, try to get enough light that you don't need to use your on board flash. If you have to use your flash... back up and then zoom in close with the lens so that the flash doesn't overwhelm the cake.
If you are using a film camera, take like 10 different photos, changing the lighting each time or position of the cake a little bit. That way one of them is bound to turn out. This is what I do when I don't have my digital handy anyway, maybe I am just overly anxious, LOL.
Your cake looks great, it really is cute. : )
I love the cake! It's awesome. I too would have made something unique for it to sit on rather than the white board. The picture could be better, but we have all been there with that! Great job!
I thought this was a great cake too! I agree, the pictures are not close up enough, I think I would have gone with one close-up picture and also, the board didn't compliment this lovely cake. You know, when I saw it, I thought, hhmn, if you could cut the cake board and decorate it to look like a blanket, I would have put it inside of a wicker basket and it would have been a great presentation. Another thing I have thought of with a cat cake, is to take the largest oval pan and make a cake and do the basket weave on it and set the cat on top.
But I am sure you are getting the idea, the cake was fantastic, just need to get a closer picture and a diffent presentation surface. I personally thought it was wonderful!
