My name is Laurel and I started decorating cakes about 6 years ago after my son was born.I wanted to make an Elmo cake for his birthday,little did I know it would become a passion.I have been around cake decorating before that though as my Mom has a successful Wedding Cake business in which I used to help her out and go on deliveries and setup!!I am located in Calgary Alberta Canada which is the province right above Montana.

I started learning decorating by taking the wilton courses through Michael's Craftstore and learning alot on my own as well...especially from Cakecentral! I have enetered in the Calgary Stampede Creative Arts and Living Show for the last 3 years and have won several ribbons incuding 4 first places in numerous categories.I enjoy working with Buttercream the most, especially Buttercream Roses.I just this year have branched out and am learning and enjoying fondant and gumpaste as well.I found Cakecentral about 2-3 years ago and have seen it grow in a fabuous direction.I really enjoy the forum and galleries...(and of course the shopping) and I have learned a tremendous amount of information!I look forward to continue to be apart of this great Cake Commumity.I do have a website: www.freewebs.com/kiddiekakes/
