How to turn white box cake into a home made chocolate cake
This recipe was born at the last min. I was short 1 box of chocolate cake mix. and plus 1 box of white. (I sent my husband to the store… don’t ask me why)
But anyway I decided to work with what I had I was on a deadline. It came out wonderful the client(a self-proclaimed chocoholic) ordered another one for her office!
I am posting this because I know this either has or will happen to my cake mix doctoring cc sisters!
Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions
I was looking for a simple and flavorful white cake for an upcoming wedding. I typically don’t like white cake because it lacks flavor and crumbles easily. I wanted the recipe to be EASY, and simple. I didn’t want to mess with two bowls, cooking, or whipping egg whites. Thanks to a mixture of CC recipe ideas and a little of my own input, I cake up with a great white cake. It’s moist, easy, and full of flavor.

This cake is delicious. It is reminiscent of my favorite cookie-the snickerdoodle. While it is not exactly like the snickerdoodle it is very close. Delicious with cinnamon buttercream!

This is a pretty good cake that took me a while to make a white cake that was moist with good flavor, the problem i have with alot of white cakes is that they are too dry or too tastless. but this recipe makes u want to eat more and more especially with strawberry filling, yummy!

This is a recipe I found while trying out a million vanilla recipes. I loved it so much, i renamed it to sugar cookie vanilla cake because it is identical in taste to a sugar cookie. Since then, it’s been my most ordered cake flavor!! Had some requests for it, so here you go!

Some cool info
-Mary never iced it
-Mary usualy served the cake with strawberrys
I did a research for my history class on Lincoln and accidentally found this recipe and thought I’d share it.

Thanks to KakeLadi, Denise2434 and (?). This is a WASC mixed up like the Heavenly White Cake recipe. It’s VERY moist and fine/medium crumbed and springy
I tried to be as precise about what I used as possible, so you can recreate my results.
Delicious!
*I’m a high-altitude baker, about 4500ft. May need to alter recipe for lower elevations.

I found this recipe in the Taste of Home magazine. This is what the lady that submitted it had to say “My grandma used to be known for her delicious wedding cakes, and this is the recipe she used,” relates field editor Sue Gronholz from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.”I learned cake decorating on my own and use her recipe to create birthday, anniversary and shower cakes.”

I messed around with boxed cake mix until I came up with this slight variation that makes a BIG difference (at least in my opinion).

Fellow vanilla loveres will appreciate this very vanilla icing. I used salted butter, 1/2 pure vanilla extract and 1/2 artificial Clear vanilla extract to help preserve the whiteness of the icing.
