This icing is a great way to treat yourself or your kids to some sweetness without the gluten or dairy! Spreads and decorates easily too.
Gluten Free Casein Free Buttercream Icing GFCF
Ingredients
- 2 lb. package of Pure Cane Confectioners Sugar
1 C Crisco shortening
1/4 C Earth Balance Vegan Butter – softened (or any GFCF butter sub.)
1/2 C warm/hot water
1 tsp. GFCF vanilla
Instructions
Cream the butter and shortening. Add in the water, vanilla and slowly incorporate the entire package of sugar. Beat on medium until well blended and smooth. Enjoy!

It’s even better if You use soy creamer and triple the flavoring by adding Kosher butter flavor, vanilla and cream bouquet. And if you use Hi-ratio shortning it will have a lighter smoother mouth feel. I follow sugarshacks icing method and the earthbalance and Hi-rat works so great!
