White Chocolate Sour Cream cake
My spinoff of one of the WASC cakes. Very light and delicious flavor. Great paired with a lemon buttercream as well!
White Chocolate Sour Cream cake
Ingredients
- 2 boxes of white cake mix (Pillsbury is my choice)
- 2 cups AP flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 box of jello white chocolate pudding mix powder sugar free
- 6 eggs or 8 egg whites
- 2 cups sour cream
- 4 tbsp oil
- 3 cups water
- 2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients well with electric mixer. Pour in prepared pans and bake at 325 until toothpick comes out clean when poked in center of cake. Can yield 2- 10 in round and 2- 6 in round if filled 1/2 full of batter.
have no idea….but worth whatever it is
do you make the pudding or just use the powder?
Can you use regular sweetened white chocolate pudding mix instead o fsugar-free ? and is it instant or cook kind?
I have just used the powdered and have even switched out for different box flavors including reuglar....it's all yummy & perfect!
I'm new to this baking thing...sorry if this is a dumb question...what is AP flour?
All Purpose Flour. Don't worry--it takes a while to get the lingo. And if you run into it--RKT is rice krispie treat. :-)
I used this recipe for my first sheet cake...it was awesome! I was so nervous, but it was great & everyone loved it! One batch made enough for a 1/2 sheet cake pan & one 9 inch round cake. Thank you!!
Anyone know how many cupcakes this recipe makes? Thanks in advance ~jenn
so if my oven doesn't fit 4 cake pans, can the batter sit long enough to wait for the first two to bake and then put the second two in or should I split the recipe and make it twice?? I can't wait to try this recipe!!
cakemamaP, I cooked a sheet cake while a round pan sat on the counter top for an hour and it still baked up great!
Can you switche the two cups of sugar for two cups of splenda?
What kind of fillings do you recommend for this cake?
Does this recipe work if you divide everything in half? As is, it makes an awful lot of cake.
This makes about 6 dozen cupcakes if anyone else was wondering.
Does anyone know how many cups of batter this makes....I need to make a 12X18 sheet cake and am wondering how many batches I will need to make.
What's a good frosting for this recipe made into cupcakes? Thanks
