I’ve been wanting to make a kind of lighter pb bc and thought that maybe marshmallow fluff would work. Oh wow, it turned out wonderful! This is a softer frosting than regular buttercream but it will crust over after about 7-10 minutes.
Peanutbutter Fluff Buttercream
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. softened salted butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. creamy peanut butter
16 oz. marshmallow fluff (also called marshmallow creme)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2-3 c. powdered sugar
3-5 tbs. half and half , light cream or heavy cream
Instructions
Cream together butter and shortening first, add the pb, and cream that in. Add the fluff and vanilla and blend thoroughly. Slowly add the powdered sugar *to taste*, once it’s the right amount of sweetness add in the half and half until the frosting looks smoother.
