This was my birthday cake last weekend. I had a great time making this cake. I know it is not as great as other purse cakes on this site but for a first timer I don't think that I did a really bad job. I know that there are so many things that I could fix but it was a really good try.
I think you did a great job!! what size cake did you use to get the purse shape? Awesome cake!
i used a sheet cake and divided it than set each peice one on top of the other with icing inbetween. Than I chilled it overnight and carved it in the morning. I only had to carve the top to make it round becasue the way i divided the cake I made the bottom layer the widest and made the other layer narrower. Hope that helps. I am not sure if I explained it properly but I tried.
The only thing that would make the purse any better than it is, would be money sticking out of the top :evil:
