Cinderella At The Ball

Cinderella At The Ball on Cake Central

This was for my niece's 4th birthday. The base is a 12-inch square-- 4 layers of strawberry cake with lemon cream cheese filling (the stairs are also strawberry cake). The doll's skirt is chocolate chocolate-chip cake, a Wondermold on a 9-inch round. The cake is covered in Satin Ice fondant. Rose bushes are royal piping and fondant roses. Lots of Super Pearl dust used on this cake! Cake board is covered in thinned royal icing.

Wow - you did an outstanding job on this cake. I love the details like the shoe, the marbeling on the stairs and the flowers/scroll work. Just beautiful - thanks for sharing your photo with us all on Cake Central.

The skirt was a slightly deeper blue than it looks in the photos. I made the mistake of playing with the light levels on the photo before I posted it and it looks too washed out. :)

I usually not a friend of these doll cakes (reminds me too much of my grandmother who made lacy dresses for these dolls and used them as toilet roll hiders and had them EVERYWHERE i her house - like a border around her entire living room!) But this.... IS BEAUTIFUL!
