Here is a closeup of the monogram. It was done with the monotype corsiva font, colorflowed and then gilded with super gold lustre dust and confectioners glaze.
Critique group member: Very pretty! I love the roses! My critiques would be that the reverse scroll border looks a little rushed and uneven and the flower arangement is to predictable, the roses need to be more clustered together.
Critique subgroup member: I just love how clean this looks. Your monogram is perfect and your colors are awesome- very rich. I personally like the different ways you placed your roses instead of it being so uniform on each corner- great work
critique subgroup member: Your icing looks very smooth and your borders are neat. I think the monogram letters look good....well formed and the luster dust is even color wise (not streaky or anything.) I am not a fan of the gold roses, though I know they are the right choice for some cakes (especially 50th anniv.). I do think your roses have nice shapes and I like the leaves.
critique subgroup member: I like the gold roses very much! your icing is nice and smooth. I tend to place things symmetrically, so I have to applaud those that look outside the box, and place things asymmetrical! I think it works here. It is hard to see the bottom, but it looks like your cake board should be a bit bigger, usually 2" larger than the cake
Crtique subgroup member: Your icing is very smooth your colors a sweet. Your roses are very well done. Couple of things for me, your board is still too small but I know sheet cakes offer some issues on that. Your reverse shells are a bit rough, but I wouldn't care if I got this cake. Then your asymetrical flowers look too off kilter. Did you layout your design on a piece of paper?
