This is a cake for a colleague at work who is leaving to study full-time to become a midwife…. Hence the “To a life of Miracles”. My house was littered with Aine2 cake photos…. You are such an inspiration! Also thanks to Katskakes for sharing some clay modelling instructions with me (the little teddy)
Thank you! The daisies are just a regular cutter but then I rolled little balls of gumpaste and brushed them in edible glue and then rolled them in edible glitter…. Time consuming but I think worth the effort. The green fondant is just regular white fondant (we only get pettinice in New Zealand) and it is coloured with the Wilton colour leaf green. It’s really humid and hot here at the moment so this cake was a bit of a nightmare).
Kathryn.. I am speechless, this would have to be the most cutest, precious wonderful baby cake i have ever seen.. your colleague is going to pass out when she see's this! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Hi, for the faces I use Aine2 "how to make a face tutorial" You can find this my looking under her profile and going to her blogspot. For the bodies I used the Wilton fondant book as a guide. HTH
Katharry, you are so incredibly talented! The eyes on those babies and the shading on their cheeks are so realistic--one of the most precious cakes I think I've ever seen!
Outstanding. I was pretty sure this was one of your cakes before I saw your name. My 2nd guess would have been Aine2. You both do amazing work and are 2 of my favorite cake artists!!!
