I received a call earlier this week about a young couple who couldn't afford to purchase a wedding cake. They were going to attempt to make it themselves, and stack a tiered cake. I told them I would gladly do it for them as a gift. I knew I had done the right thing when I delivered the cake to the reception room at the church. The kids who couldn't afford much, had long tables set with paper plates and cups, and homemade dips and appetizers. They were late for their own wedding because they had run overtime preparing the celebration meal for their family and friends. I was truly humbled. These kids know what it's all about. It's not about fine china, fancy dishes or intricate cakes. It's about love and joining two hearts in front of God, Family and Friends. 12" half and half cake on bottom, 9" half and half cake on top. All buttercream. Cake is half vanilla cake batter and half chocolate cake batter baked in same pan. TFL
