This is really nicely done. I've been wanting to try the bundt pan method and you've inspired me. Tell me what you filled the center with? And what did you use for the stem? Thanks for any advice.
Thank you everyone!! I used icing to connect the two bundts, but I didn't worry about filling the holes from the pan. The stem is a flat bottom ice cream cone covered with icing. If you have any more questions, ask away! :)
Great job! This would make a great Thanksgiving dessert. I've been thinking about buying an airbrush set. I think you've just convinced me. Is it hard to get the hang of?
Really good work. It looks really real. Love it
I do have to make a pumpking cake for a girl's birthday in 2 weeks, and I was wondering how many people would this cake serve? In order to make the color orange do I have to use a lot of the color Orange? Did you use just orange color or Red and Yellow? I just want to get that tone of orange. Any help would be appreciated. :)
I used two box cake mixes so it would probably serve around 24 to 30. I used white icing and airbrushed it orange. I used brown to highlight the ridges of the pumpkin.

When you say "Connect the two bundt cakes together", do you mean one on top of the other or side by side? Sorry to be slow, but I'm new and can't quite picture this myself. Excellent work by the way!!
This is excellent!!! I'm going to try this for our church's upcoming dinner. They ask me to do a centerpiece cake. What tip did you use on the cone? Thanks!!
Great job on you cake!! Perfect! I wonder, could you get a similar effect if you don't have an airbrush??
beautiful!
charlieinMO, You could always start orange icing. Using an airbrush gives you a chance to highlight the ridges, but I don't think it is a must.
I don't know what your experience is, but this cake is gorgeous, nice job

Thanks TexasSugar!! I think you did a great job!

I'm by no means an expert with the airbrush. I mostly use it to do all over color and not too often for details.
What recipes did you use for the cakes? I am making a pumpkin cake for my son's birthday but I am worried about it coming out too short and squat.
I think I used a spice or pumpkin recipe using a cake mix. I used a full cake mix in each bundt cake I baked.

I love it! Any tips on how you got the BC sooo smooth? Also, how did you dent the ridges so perfectly? Thanks!
Thank you. I used a viva paper towel for smoothing. For the ridges, I used a straw and pressed it into the buttercream.
