Thanks! I made the letters by printing out her name onto cardstock (curlz font), and cut out the letters to make a template. Then I used the template and an exacto knife to cut the letters from gumpaste. I have seen a set of gumpaste letter cutters, and that would be so much easier next time! Very Happy

What a wonderful cake!!!!! LOVE it! GReat job! I have a question though~I am still VERY new to this and am wondering how to get the cake itself to have such a perfect, sharpe-edged look? I know the "viva" paper towlel method... but my cakes just don't seem tough enough to look so perfect like that!!! HELP! Anyone? Do I need to be a pro to be able to do that? haha. Thanks!!

Thanks so much! I use Sugarshack's smoothing method- using a viva paper towel with a fondant smoother, and then using a piece of computer paper. I highly recommend her buttercream dvd- sugaredproductions.com! As far as getting sharp edges, I think it is important to make sure you have plenty of buttercream from the sides of your cake extending over the top edge. Then carefully swipe the excess towards the center of the top of the cake with a small offset spatula. Hope that helps Very Happy
