This is a cake I did for a five-year old. Moby Dick is his current favourite story. After an extensive gallery search, on CC, and the net for ideas with zero success, this is what I came up with.
Thanks! No, I don't have the paisley pans. All I have are basic squares and rounds, so I baked in a round pan, andthen cut out "yin and yang" shapes, stacked, chilled and carved. Very little wastage of cake, so that was good. For the tail I baked a small square, cut diagonally, and then stacked. This was supposed to be a sperm whale hence the squarish shape of the head. Also, Moby Dick was white and not the usual grey.
