Other / Mixed Shaped Wedding Cakes

A work colleague's daughter got married and the cake lady (a friend) did a no-show, no friend, no cake. I was quite gobsmacked and desperate to have a swing at a style inspired by the latest cover of Wedding Cakes A Design Source. So with two spare fruit cakes and a bit of patience I spent the last two days working on this to take in as a surprise because every bride should have a cake!

I really love this cake. Did you use a clay gun for the sides?

Thank you, yes I did use a clay gun then I let them set up a touch between straws, so they stayed straight!

Cool cake!!! When I first looked at it I thought the sides were done with chocolate dipped pirolene (sp) cookies like I did for my sons wedding cake. I was surprised to hear that they were done with a clay gun. You were very nice to do the cake. Thumbs Up!
