It's beeeeuuutiiful! I just love the aqua color you acheived on this, as well as, well, the entire design! The silver-edged waves and beautiful rope border finish the cake sooo nicely. Love it!

I love sea horses, and I love this cake! It is so attractive. The only thing that didn't make sense to me was the strawberry filling... yummy, but doesn't really go with the theme (color or subject).

That cake is amazing! I love the painted fondant for the water. I've got an ocean cake to make in a few months - how did you paint that? What did you use?

Thanks everyone for the comments! Yep, the crowd asked for a "strawberry shortcake" type on this one. Clopin0, I mixed green and blue airbrush colors for the paint and when the fondant dried a bit, I just brushed in on like a water color paint. DoniB, I made the two (opposite) seashell molds from a mini statue I found at the dollar store---the mold stuff is called Amazing Mold Putty. Thanks everyone!

this is just gorgeous- i love the tmeme and the blue you chose. One minor thing I see, and it really is minor, is that you have some dots before the different shells and then some after. It kind of throws off the visual a little. Like I said though- very minor. It's a fantastic cake and the sea horses on top were a perfect finish

critique subgroup member: I actually liked the cake better with the coral supports as it was quite the illusion!! I was amazed at how they supported the cake! nice smooth fondant. The painting is a little streaky, but quite honestly not sure how one ever accomplishes streak free fondant painting?? overall, beautiful cake!
