First Fondant Covered Cake And Roses!

First Fondant Covered Cake And Roses! on Cake Central

This is my first time covering a cake with fondant and making any type of fondant roses. The roses on top of the cake were time consuming, but fun to make! 6-inch strawberry cake covered in BC icing and fondant. I made this cake for my younger sister's birthday because she is an amazing pianist! This was #4 of 4 cakes I made for a combined family birthday party. I definitely need practice getting the fondant smooth on the cake. I was happy I was covering most of it up with the keys! :)

grandelmom.....you can maybe make the flowers in blue for a boy......on use blue accents instead of red......regardless....it is a great set up and great decorating

This is a beautiful cake, I just love your roses and piano keys, even the small roses look great.

the design is beautiful and you cannot tell you had any issues with the fondant. plus, both types of your roses are great. oh, and the color combo is striking as well.

What a great idea! The cake is beautiful. I know your pain when the fondant just wont act right. Its always good to have a back up to cover it up!
