:? are the cakes on top dummies? If not then how on earth did you manage this one, in the other hand I would have love to have someone I know right underneath it

its all cake, 1/4 wooden dowels support each layer. The base was thick (1") which kept te cake from tipping when the long dowel was hammered in.

I have been wanting to do one of these cakes so bad, and no good reason to do one (well not sure I want to do one for a divorce cake but.. hey at least you got to do it) Great job!

I love it!! I had to look twice to realize that's the groom sticking out from under. How funny and wonderfully clever!

When I saw this cake, I couldnt believe it. Not so much the stacking of the cakes but just the whole concept. I looked at it and looed at it and said..I gotta save this one in my favorites. Im speachless! Good job.

Hysterical!! Okay, did you assemble in a normal fashion with dowels and then carefully flip it over before you added the last of the dowels to go through the 1" board? I would not be brave enough to do this :D

I just saw it on my local news. So neat! It showed a clip of the construction and decorating. Congratulations on all the media attention.

I just saw a news spot online on my local station that featured a bakery in Fl. that makes these cakes. Is that you or is this a rendition? Very cool for sure!

I can't believe I missed the news report!!...and I live in FL!!! :( The circumstances (divorce) may not be the best, and despite the cakes hilariousness, I hope you were recognized simply because this cake defies gravity!!!! Holy Cow!!! Even with the 1/4 dowels, I don't know how you did it!!! :o You should do one of those "How to's"!!

themrsprinkles, So did you construct this as we see it? Rather than flip it it looks to me like you'd just do it tier by tier, the difference being the tiers get bigger rather than smaller. And the ruffled swags are just reversed. Am I right? I can't imagine flipping a tiered cake. It's the most clever and fun cakes I've seen. Some day I'll try one for the heck of it. Love it!
