Mickey Mouse Club House Cake

Mickey Mouse Club House Cake on Cake Central

I made this for my niece's 3rd Birthday. She had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party. I didn't want to make the actual clubhouse so after looking at a lot of pictures this is what I came up with. My niece thought that Minnie Mouse was wearing a necklace. Ã

Sooo cute - it totally looks like a Mickey's Clubhouse cake, you kind of just forget there's no clubhouse. Great, great great!

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I stressed long and hard over how to make this and what to do. I thought it turned out well but is nice to hear that others agree, so Thank You! The ears are half of the Wilton Ball Pan for the base and the actual ears are styrofoam. I was going to do Krispy Treats but decided styrofoam was easier.

One thing that was important for me on this cake was that it was bright. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make the colors as bright as I would want so I bought pre-colored fondant. I bought from Satin Ice. I loved the colors but had quite a bit of trouble with the actual fondant. It was very sticky and kept coming out with air bubbles. I also had a problem with stretching and tearing once it was on the cake. It had a great flavor and great colors but I am not sure if I would use it again.
