critique group member: You did a very nice job on all of the details on this cake. The fondant lloks a little bubbled or something in the front, but maybe that's just a shadow. Your borders looks nice with only minimal inconsistencies. You are a talented decorator.
critique group member: Very, very nice! And what a wonderful gift for your parents!! The bottom tier seems to have some bulging..not sure if it's from the filling or the actual icing itself?!? Also, visually, although your flowers are beautiful, the topper almost looks to uniform to me. Perhaps having "staggered" flowers would have been more visually appealing? JMO. Overall very beautiful cake!
Critique group submember: Very lovely design and colors are sweet. (Except for a little bulging in the second layer) your layers are very smooth. Your shell border is fabulous, tons better from the beginning. Each little shell is distinct and almost uniform in size. Your roses are very lovely and string work is good. Next string work I challenge you to drop a tube size and keep dropping from henceforth until you reach the number 1 tube. :D Very pretty cake, bet your parents were pleased.
Oh one more thing, next time you photograph, prep your area. These photos will stay with you a long time. If you want more height, throw a book under a tablecloth or something like that.
Right into the favs :D Your stringwork is very nice, very well spaced and I love that you used 2 different styles on the tiers, awesome job girlie! Your parents must be very proud!! ;-D
Wow! I'm not lying when I say that it is good enough to be a wedding cake ;-D . All that fancy icing work makes it look really sophisticated. :princess:
Critique Group Member: You sure have an amazing talent. You'll go far if you stick to it. I never have mastered stringwork and here you are at 14 looking like a pro :D . I can tell you took your time on the shell border especially since this was your first one and they're spaced so evenly. My only critique on this cake has already been addressed by some others in our group and that's the bulging. But I have no doubt you'll get that mastered soon!
Critique Group Member: Your stringwork is fantastic. I'm still too scared to do stringwork like that. Great job!
