This is my second oldest son's 11th birthday cake. It's buttercream, color flow, and a bit of fondant.

WOW...your work is great!!! My nephews asked for this cake. I have never worked with color flow before and fairly new to this cake decorating thing (started in March, teaching myself as I go) tryed the color flow last night....The outlining was a pain but filled in beautifully. Any tips you could pass along would be awesome. Also on the chocolate transfers you do too. Thanks! 8O :roll: :party:

Thank you! I like to put all of my color flow in small, individual jars. I make sure to have toothpicks and a corsage pin on the table (to push the color flow into small corners and pop air bubbles). I also keep a small jar of water and a paintbrush out for smoothing. I like color flow because you can add neater details after it dries & fix any mistakes. The most difficult part about these particular faces was keeping them smooth-looking. I had to make 3 Sasukes 'cause I wasn't working fast enough &

his face was looking... wavy. As far as chocolate transfers, the best tip I've learned here is using a heating pad to keep the chocolate warm while you work. Anyway, thanks so much for the kind words and have fun!

omg! thanks so much for the props on my clouds! but your cake is so "awesomely awesome" as my 15 year old daughter says. i wish that my cake had come out at least half as good as yours did! excellent job! :D
