I think I've heard that it's hard to get a white chocolate flavor in the cake itself, so if it were me, I would try to make a maple flavored cake and fill it with MacsMom's white chocolate truffle filling (which is delicious - I have to try to not eat it with a spoon ). I think Lorann has a maple flavor, which I would add and then maybe substitute brown sugar for some of the regular sugar in the WASC cake.
I'm pretty much an amateur, though, so maybe someone else has a better answer. |
I agree! |

this one says baked with white choc, and doused with maple syrup. white truffle filling (didn't see the filling before).
So I'm thinking it means white choc creamer & white choc pudding mix. I'm not sure about what else though to bring out the white choc flavor in the cake. |

Recipe I use:
Maple White Chocolate
2 white cake mixes
2 c flour
1-1/2 c sugar
1-1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup of maple syrup
8oz white baking chocolate, melted & slightly cooled. (Temper the chocolate by stirring in a small amount of the batter, then add the white chocolate to the entire batter and stir well.)
1-1/3 c water
1-1/3 c vanilla creamer
6 whole eggs
2 c sour cream
1/3 c oil
1 dram LoRann maple flavor
2 tsp vanilla
Doesn't bake up quite as high as the original, so add a pinch more batter to the pans. |

ok, nevermind. I called a manager to see if they could order it for me. Amazing what a phone call to a "manager" can do. according to my local grocer deli dept manager they didnt have it (mascarpone) on the shelves due to a recent inventory change last week, BUT they do have a case of it in the back still. just not on the shelves. WOOT! |

Well, the chocolate fondant didn't have quite the flavor I was hoping for. I may try to add a little flavoring & knead it into it. The consistancy was fine, but I used 1/2 semi sweet 1/2 bittersweet. Think I should have used all bittersweet. Oh well, people probably won't eat it any way, sadly.
I did make the pink champagne cake--2nd time. I used egg whites this time & was much more pleased w/ the texture than w/ the whole eggs. The scraps are sooooo yummy! Filling it with white chocolate mousse (Bettercreme w/ white chocolate syrup--that's yummy too). Just hope my friends like the surprise & I don't butcher my first purse cake!! |

I made the cookies & cream cupcakes in the list, I used mint oreo's & topped with hershey's chocoalte frosting with the remaining mint cookie pieces mixed in! SOOOOOOOOO FLIPPIN YUMMY! The only way it could be any better is with chocolate cake instead of the white cake! I'm doing peanut butter ones next, peanut butter oreo's, chocolate cake, pb frosting with the oreo's mixed in! YUM! |

Someone just PM'd me about Jello no bake cheesebake in a box--but I accidentally hit "delete" instead of "reply" and I didn't memorize the sender's user ID!
So, if you're out there, since Bettercreme does not require refrigeration once whipped, my bet is would work great with no-bake cheesecake powder mix and can be left out. It will likely become too thick, so watch your beaters carefully as you're mixing. |
