Does anyone know how to make a gumpaste/fondant Lotus flower?
Is it similar to making a lily? I do have a lily cutter. (I don't suppose anyone makes the lily pads, too?)
I'd also love to know how to make a fortune cookie in gumpaste or fondant.
Thank you.
check out the link below, there are instructions on how to make a lotus flower

HTH!!
For lilly pads, I use a heart cutter and thicker than usuall gumpaste. I then use a ball tool to widen the heart shape a bit, I vien the pad and ruffle the edges. I am not sure if this is "right" but that is how I do mine.
The lotus flowers I made were for the tinkerbell cake in my pics. I used the smallest daisy cutter, scored a line down the petal and then cupped them. I stacked 3 daisies together 1 somewhat cupped, 1 rounded and the third used the smallest wilton ball tool and had the petals stand almost straight up. I then used dust and made them pink, purple and yellow after they were 90% dry. I just wanted a touch of color on the petal edges. Again, that's what I did, I did not have any lesson or instructions just the way I did them.
Thank you, that method sounds super easy. I'm stuck making a ton of tiny cakes again, and need to finish each off with a small lotus.
I appreciate the help!
for mini cakes, this method will work great! The are quick and easy. I use a pasta machine and can knock them out in just a few minutes.
