Never heard of this. Is it their house made of fondant? Or is it something other than fondant? Maybe something between fondant and gumpaste based on the description?

I just called them. The woman I talked to said it was more like gumpaste or fondant, very pliable and good for molds or pieces that have to wrap around the cake. I might have to try this when I need some colored fondant-type material for bows and lace molds. They ship USPS flat rate box for 4.95, and you can fit about 3 pkgs. into that box.

Sounds like someone's homemade gum paste with perhaps some extra gums and/or glycerin in it.

Thanks for the replys. They say that it rolls out very thin. I thought it might be like a premade sugar veil .

No. They are made in very different manners. Sugarveil is spread out and left to dry. It's never "rolled" out.

I just looked at the site. It sounds and looks like marcela sanchez's product, which is beautiful paste to work with. It is priced similiar also.

That's what I figured, too--similar to her paste, Pilar's from Sunflower Sugar Art, and/or to Platinum Paste by Lin Cook.

It may seem a bit pricey, but a little goes a very, very long way.

Does it dry hard like gumpaste or stay pliable?
