Greetings, fellow CCers

I'm wondering if anyone out there can help me locate a life-size plain masquerade mask candy mold?

I've googled already, but can't find one the right size Sad

Thanks much in advance for any help you can give me!

Scott

If you can't find a mold...I'd go to Michaels or other craft store...and they sell cheap plastic ones. I have used them for gumpaste masks...but you could also spread it in a few layers of chocolate until its thick enough...and then pipe decorations on it.

I've used the ones from Michael's too. I think they only cost 99 cents.

I used for this one a transparent mask I bought in Party City.

Thanks everyone!

I will try Michael's tomorrow. I may just switch to gumpaste after all!
This is for a Lady GaGa themed cake for my partner's niece in May, and she wants the mirrored mask from 'Poker Face' on top!

What have I gotten myself into??? Shocked

P.S. Edna...I LOVE your mask! I saw it when you posted it to FB, and I want to try one someday!

Get a white plastic mask at craft store, roll out gumpaste and cover the mask...I cover the mask with plastic wrap first....then I cut out the eyes and trim around outside of the mask....I have two pics with masks I made....I paint on make up with color gels and use feathers to adorn it as well...

You can do fondant with lots of tylose so it gets harder. It's not as difficult!
Good luck!

That's what I do...CMC powder is my best friend! lol

Not being a fan of Lady Gaga, I sure hope I make my niece proud!

And if anyone can share your tips for the best advice for topsy-turvy cakes, don't hesitate to speak up, please! I will be doing more reading, and finding some guidance, and giving my first TT cake a try after thanksgiving.
