Kitchen Birthday Cake!
Thank you to the wonderful decorator that gave me the idea - I am so sorry I do not have your name. I added alot of detail. This was made for a dear friend and my "cake partner in crime!" Everything is done in fondant, there are no non-edible items on the cake, including the floor. The cake board is small, only 15x17. The cake is 13" on the long side - depth of counter/cabinets is 4.5". For perspective, the paper towel is only about an inch high. Everything hand painted and hand molded. Please let me know if you have any questions. Oh, it took about 4 days to do. Cake is chocolate poundcake with chocolate ganache buttercream. Took 3 - 13x9 pans of cake. Whimsical Dot Purse Cake
This was carved from one 13x9 cake, sitting on a 12" cake board. I used about 300 circles to cover this bad boy. : ) I did not cover the cake with a layer of fondant first, I just stuck the circles to the buttercream. This is WASC cake with buttercream icing and a Butterfinger filling. Satin ice fondant. To make the handles I just used thick wire and strung the balls on. Thank you so much for looking! Fun 80's Themed Birthday Cake With Coordinating Cupcakes
This cake was a blast to make. This is a 6"/4" topper cake with coordinating cupcakes. All items made with fondant. The MJ sparkly glove was grey fondant with disco dust painted on with just water. All items hand cut. Cake was decadent chocolate with chocolate ganache buttercream and the cupcakes were my new pink velvet recipe with cream cheese icing, piped on with a #10 smooth round tip. Thank you so much for looking and for your sweet comments. Makes these long nights worth it! (oh, I did all of the pieces about 3 days ahead and let them sit to dry. After they were put on I did refrigerate it overnight and had no trouble with sagging or warping fondant decor... : )
