First Birch Bark Cake
This was my first attempt at a birch bark cake and I loved doing it way more than I thought I would. I was so nervous (as I usually am when I’m trying something different), but after a few hours on YouTube, doing some research, crying a bit, praying a lot and then getting going, it went a lot more smoothly than I’d thought. Under the bark is chocolate ganache and the bark itself was a 1/2 & 1/2 mix of white modeling chocolate and white Satin Ice fondant. The texture and coloring was done with the back of a paring knife dipped in a mixture of earthy edible airbrush colors and then dry brushed with brown/black/green color dust. TFL! :)

Scrabble Cake
This was a grooms cake made for a crossword loving husband-to-be. This bride sent me a list of words she wanted to incorporate on the board, but other than that, I was free to create it however I'd like. The inside was carrot cake, and outside was modeling chocolate, fondant, some gum paste, wafer paper, and edible paint. TFL! :)

Sweet Little Owl For A Sweet Little Gal I Had Some Trouble Deciding On How To Do The Eyes So They Were Friendly And Not Huge And Scary S
Sweet little owl for a sweet little gal :) I had some trouble deciding on how to do the eyes so they were friendly and not huge and scary, so I ended up making them after an owl I found online at Elisa Strauss's blog. She does wonderful work and I wasn't sure if she was on here, but I wanted to make sure to give her credit. TFL! :)

Leo The Lion & Friends
Jungle animals baby shower cake made for a family friend. They just said to do whatever I'd like and incorporate jungle animals, so I had a good old time! I took elements from a lot of cakes I've seen here on CC, so to name a few - Royal Bakery: Greenery around the border on the bottom. - Cake Avenue: Blue on blue tier cake with monkey swinging. Kylie Lambert (on Flickr) for the idea for the lions mane. There's probably a lot more, but thank you all so much for your inspiration. Without you none of my cakes would be possible :) TFL!

Vintange Wedding Cake
This cake was made for a ?lemon & green? theme feature in Cake Central magazine. It was a blessing to be chosen to be included in the latest issue and I still can?t believe that it actually happened. There are so many other amazing decorators out there and I feel like I have so much more to learn. Rose on top is made of 100% gum paste, design on the side of the cake was made by using an old rubber stamp I had from my childhood stamp collection, then dusted in buttercup luster dust. TFL! :)

Animal Print 1St Birthday
I've been planning this cake since February and I have been equally nervous since then. My first pillow cake and my first leopard and giraffe print! The tiara is gum paste with sugar diamonds and the leopard print was painted with liquefied powder coloring. Pink fondant is Fondarific Strawberry flavored, dark brown fondant is Satin Ice Chocolate flavored and the three tiers are as follows: top - Dark Chocolate Fudge cake with chocolate ganache, mid - French Vanilla sponge cake with fresh vanilla custard, bottom - Fudge marble with swiss meringue buttercream. TFL! :)

Playing Card Birthday Cake
This was a birthday cake made for my Great Aunt who is turning 94! She absolutely LOVES playing cards (Pepper is her favorite game), so I was excited to try my hand at some edible images and my very first ?draping? on a cake. That turned out to be more difficult that I thought! Inside is french vanilla sponge cake with a vanilla bean custard filling and fresh strawberries.
