Elephant Cake
Here is my contribution to the carnival contest. I had lots of different ideas, and I do wish I had chosen another than this one, because this elephant didn't turn out at all as I wanted him to. He's still cake though, so I'll let my colleagues have a go at him :-) It's vanilla cake with strawberry/rhubarb IMBC.

Easter Cake
I really wanted to do a lamb cake, but couldn't quite figure out the construction of it, so chose a bunny cake and a fairly easy one at that. The cake is a ginger cake with lemon buttercream. The carrots I made ahead with stiff royal icing, so only the ears, feet and eggs are fondant. The sign says 'happy easter'. Hope you like it :-)

Heart Cake
Last week my mother had a minor heart sugery, from which she is recovering very well. She'll be going back to work on Monday and wanted to bring a cake for her colleagues, who have been beyond kind and helpful throughout her illness. This is a 10x8 inch chocolate mudcake with orange buttercream and an orange compote. 'Tak' Means thank you in Danish

Moving Cake
The firm where my mother works moved to a new location last week and wanted to celebreate with cake. I searched high and low for ideas, but didn't just want to make a moving box, so came up with this overturned version. The red book says 'register' (same spelling in Danish and English), the green says 'expences' (crossed out) and below 'profits' and the yellow says 'customers'. The small white foam things (I don't know the right term) are mini marshmallows, everythings else is made with fondant. The cake is 6x8 inch chocolate mudcake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam.

Fall Cake
It seems like it's been ages since I last decorated a cake, and since I've wanted to do a fall cake for ages, this weekend seemed the perfect time to take out the fondant. It's a spice cake with caramel buttercream and soft slices of apple in betweeen. Now, my only problem is how to get it to work so my colleagues can enjoy it, I'm not sure I can transport it on my bike without serious mishap...

Cupcakes For Competition
A local hardware store is running a cupcake competition this month, and as the price is a gift certificate for 5000,- DKR, I'd very much like to win. I thought long and hard and this is my contribution, inspired by the beautiful work of Hello Naomi, and an illustration seen on Shutterstock. I'm not entirely satisfied with them though, so I think I might have to make a second contribution next weekend :-)

Quirky Wedding Cake
My colleague wanted a quirky, fun and different wedding cake, and I must say she got it! The only reason she wanted a teapot on top and teacups on the side of the bottom tier, was that she had seen some teapot and teacup cookies I had made and loved them. Neither she or her husband drinks tea :-) Personally I am soooo happy I pulled off this cake, as it is somewhat larger than the cakes I usually do, and I can't remember the last time I was as nervous as on delivering it. I would never have come up with this design on my own, and if I'm frank, I don't think it's suitable as a weddingcake, but that doesn't matter as my colleague loved it.

Fc Barcelona Cake
Cake for a tenth birthday. The birthday boy is a huge fan of FC Barcelona and Lionel Messi, which is perfect as Messi plays in number ten. The writing is exactly as the birthday boy ordered; instead of it saying Messi, he wanted Messi's first name and his own above the number ten :-) It's chocolate mudcake with vanillabuttercream and raspberry jam.

Spaghetti, Anyone?
For so many reasons, it's been months since last I decorated a cake, but the octopus contest seemed the perfect excuse to start rolling fondant again. I knew, though, by looking at the other contestants, that I would never be able to do a cute octopus cake to compete with them, so I came up with this instead. A mountain of spaghetti with octopus, lemon and tomato. It's a lemon cake with raspberry jam and lemon buttercream.

Halloween 2011
This is my Halloween cake for this year. I had a thousand and one ideas, but all of them for much larger cakes, and we aren't that many people at my job these days to eat the cake. Also, I hadn't all that much time, so I decided to keep it simple. The cake I really wanted to do was a cauldron, but in the end I decided that wasn't Halloweeny enough, so I returned to the pumpkin. I've made a pumpkin cake before, but I like this one so much better. It's chocolate mudcake with orange buttercream. A word of advice; make mudcake a few days before you want to carve and decorate it, otherwise it'll crumble just when you look at it. Believe me, I know.

Dragon Cake
This is my contribution to the Awesome! Magical! Sweet! cake contest. It's not an easy theme because there are so many interpretations, but to me it meant cute, pink and magical, so a pink baby dragon seemed apt. I first considered a unicorn, but as I don't like making cake without anyone eating it, a unicorn would be much to big for my colleagues who are the resipients of my cakes. The cake is chocolate mudcake with white chocolate ganache covered in fondant. I had sooo much trouble covering the 'egg', so the fondant is far from smooth, but I hope I'm the only one noticing :0)

Outdoors Birthday Cake
This cake was ordered by one of my mother's colleagues for her boyfriend's 45th birthday. Originally she wanted kayak, running, badminton and hunting incorporated into the cake, but when I showed her the drawing of this one, she chose it, and I'm glad she did, because I really wanted to make it. I had a lot of fun making it, I rarely get to make cake's that are so personalized and with so much detail, but was pleasantly surprised that it didn't take as many hours as I had expected it to. The runner on the side was the biggest challenge, and unfortunately he didn't survive the transport. Luckily I suspected he wouldn't so I had made another figure lying down on the road as if he had tripped, and could quickly place him on the cake instead of the runner. I didn't get a picture of him though. The bottom cake is 12", the top 8" and the plate it's on 16". The bottom plate is plywood cut by my father because it costs a bl***y fortune to have cake drums that large delivered to Denmark, but I'm glad he could help because the cake ended up weighing a ton, and I'm not sure a normal cake board would have held when I lifted it. The cakes are vanilla with rhubarb-strawberry IMBC.

Easter Cookies 1
I had serious trouble deciding which cookies to make for easter, I had too many ideas to choose from, so I ended up doing three different sets. This is the first set, inspired by some very cute illustrations I saw on Shutterstock. I think I like them because of their simplicity. They're handcut NFSC with RI.

Easter Cake
This cake is inspired by the chicken cake I saw a long time ago here on CakeCentral by Cakesaurus. Since it's easter in a week, I thought I'd make it as a chicken instead. I tend to choose designs that takes quite a long time to make, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was finished decorating this one after only two hours :0) It's a jasmine tea cake with jasmine tea buttercream. A recipe I haven't tried before, but judging by the scraps I cut off, VERY good!

18Th Birthday Cake
This cake was for my cousin who turned 18 last Sunday. I had four things to go by; he loves football/soccer so that's the bottom tier, the red circles on white is the logo of a tv-series called Klovn (Clown) which he is a huge fan of, he loves cake (obviously the top tier), and he also loves a liqorice called Superflyers which are the black bars on top behind the 18 and cut into smaller pieces around the bottom tier. It doesn't show on the picture, but the "icing" on the cake is gold, which I chose because my cousin had searched high and low for a gold suit for his end-of-school celebration and I thought it matched the red, white and black very well. The bottom tier is choclate mudcake with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries, and the other two tiers are lemon cake with lemon buttercream and blackberry jam.

Spring Time Cookes
After nearly four months af daytime frost, snow, grey sky, strong wind and generally very cold weather, I'm longing for spring and the sun. These cookies are to tide my colleagues and I over until the weahter turns LOL They are very much inspired by SweetSugarBelle's wonderful work, which I simply love.

Winter Cookies
The snow outside has melted away, but it's still freezing, so I thought winter cookies were in order. They're for my colleagues for being so kind and letting me have a few days off even though it gives them more work. The cookies are ginger with orange RI, and larger than I'd planned (the melted snowman is about 5 inches), but I don't think my colleagues will mind LOL.
